We are in Pole Position!

Due to some personal issues, I have been quiet for a while, life is often like that it throws shit at you and you just have to deal with it, that often means that you have to change the road you were on for a while, I won’t bore you with the details however the analogy stands as this season has been like that for Celtic.

We have had horrendous injuries, loss of form that we have not seen for a long time at the club and changes in management and style that have all affected the club and players.

Add in that we have the usual issues with the cheating and bias shown against us by referees it has been a very stop start season.

Yesterday as we went into Castle Greyskull, we were in a position that we had it all in our own hands, we left there, while Skeletor (seriously look at him) celebrated, with the same position and a derby game to come at Celtic Park. That is the overriding positive that should be taken from the game by all fans, the brat cult, of course, do not agree, but that’s what we face with these people in our support.

The game yesterday was a microcosm of the season, we had players coming back from injury not yet at 100%, we are in a war with referees challenging the blatant cheating they are guilty of, none of our own fans and horrendous weather.

Yesterday we scored so early and were in total charge of the game at half time, the referee was forced to call the game as fair as he could ever, yes the VAR officials directed him to the monitor to see the penalty and it was a penalty with Goldson however John Beaton’s calls in game were appalling, the free kicks he refused to award against us were deliberate calls to ensure that we did not get any advantage, and he called so many against us, it just proves that they are no longer even hiding it.

In the first half we had the wind behind us, that helped, we were able to manage the ball going forward better, the defence was able to manage things easier too as they could predict easier how the ball was going to play.

We could, and perhaps should, have been 3 or 4 up at half time, but that’s not how this season has gone for us. Again, the game being a microcosm of the season.

In the second half the momentum changed, first their penalty call, there is contact by Alistair Johnston but where can he go with his leg when he gets the touch? Brendan Rogers stated that he flet the initial call on field was correct and understandable and I tend to agree with that, I would like to hear the audio on VAR as based on the touch and his body position how is it a clear and obvious error?

It changed the game, which of course is what they wanted, they then get a boost and then have the wind behind them, and we did become a little erratic, with 50 thousand of their fans behind them and the referee giving them all the decisions he could. That happens in football. Up until that penalty we were still the better team in the second half.

In the second half we had to replace Kyogo, Kuhn and Hatate based on the way the game was going and due to fitness, that gave them a boost again. They get a huge slice of luck with the deflection for their second goal.

How we responded to that was excellent, we get the goal, another great goal by Idah.

I said at that point that there would be time added on until they scored, and I feel that’s what happened, the goal is a great finish but where did that added time come from?

If you look at how they celebrated at getting a draw at home against us it shows the difference in levels, add in how Cuntwell reacted to Callum McGregor after the game you see where they are, they are trying to spin that we are panicking as we lost the lead, but they are not taking the facts and perspectives into account, remember, again, they were convinced that they were going to turn us over, the 3rd time they have thought that this season, and they still have not beaten us.

One of the things I said before the game to many people is that everyone seems to be forgetting that there is another derby to come, and it is at Celtic Park. That game will be soon, and we will see what they do with the fixtures.

Based on the fixtures so far, we should face both the Ibrox team and Hearts at Celtic Park, Kilmarnock and St Mirren will be away if its Dundee then that may be an away trip, if its Motherwell it should be at home. We should have the 3 home games based on our fixtures so far, however we do not get the fairness of those calls.

As we have thought for a while this will go towards the end of the season, I do not think it will be goal difference, I think we will win it on points, having gotten through Ibrox with it in our own hands we are absolutely in pole position for that.
