In the driving seat

The Scottish Premiership season is in its final four games and Celtic are top of the league by 3 points hold but you would not think that based on the some of our own fans, and majority of Scottish football’s discussions, specifically the media.

I won’t go to deep into it as others have covered it and, well, what did we expect, but it is an absolute disgrace how the report on Celtic in these types of situations, all to give hope and belief to a specific club and to ensure that their place in the fabric of their wee societies and cults is ensured and even bettered.

It is led by certain people in the media who hate Celtic, for many years the Uncle Tim on Clyde Super scoreboard has been their wee leader always attacking Celtic at every opportunity and praising everything that happens at whichever iteration of the Ibrox club is place, this has been backed up by one of the most bigoted voices I have ever heard in all of media on the BBC, a man steeped in the hatred of everything to do with Celtic and very recently backed up by a commentator on Sky Sports who is referred to as  a village idiot by some however I feel this is an insult to village idiots and he should be referred to as one of the stupidest people to have demeaned the human race by his presence.

We expect attacks from these people its how they get their jobs in this industry and how they keep them too, they take money from bigots and Ibrox to get their names on the TV and in the newspaper, and people wonder why this legacy media its in its death rattle.

Since the weekend its all about how Celtic struggled and how the Ibrox mess were strong in getting the victory, what fucking games did they watch, cos we all know that’s not what happened, but for a very unfortunate own goal Celtic were in no danger and the Ibrox team struggled badly to keep St Mirren from getting an equaliser, once again their GK helping them out, imagine their results had they not brought him in? And if our best player this season, and he is theirs, had been our keeper what would the reports about our play and defending be like? Look at how we are getting it when we are top of the fucking league with 4 games to go, imagine if we needed save after save to stay in contention?

Now we know that we have not had the most flowing of seasons, as I have tried to say sometimes that happens in football but we simply do not have the fanbase to understand that, there is a lack of resilience in a section of our fan base, who have seen utter domination and league wins at a canter, but with absolutely no understanding of the game, some say this is generational, I disagree, it is just spoiled entitled brats, and age doesn’t come into that, that is character.

Having said that, as has been pointed out elsewhere, we are on target for a very good points total, what does that say? That we have dug out results, we have shown resilience and effort to get through games and that we have won big games.

Which brings me to this Saturday and the game at home to Hearts.

We know that they will not turn up against us like Steven Naismith has done with them against the Ibrox team, they will not roll over, Hearts have played well this season against many teams, us included, yet have not even attempted to lay a glove on Ibrox, there is only one explanation for that.

However, we have it in our hands.

The two defeats against them this season have been a big part of what has been used to beat the team over the head with, the first defeat was during the period we had dropped in confidence, had recently been beaten heavily by Atletico Madrid and had a horrendous injury list. As always, these things are never taken into account with Celtic, however we were very poor in that game and that was also during the GB ban, I don’t like the GB’s political involvement that gets the club into trouble nor their belief that they are more important than the club and team, however they do bring noise and colour.

The second defeat was one of the most corrupt refereeing performances I have ever seen, the two decisions given against us even appalled fans of the Ibrox club, that’s how bad they were, how those officials have ever been near a Celtic game again shows how corruptly we are treated, given that other referees are now not allowed to referee the Ibrox team.

That, again, knocked our confidence and we became very passive in that game after starting well.

What has been forgotten is that we beat Hearts 4-1 before these two games, a game in which we were reasonably free from injuries and in ok form, that’s dismissed of course as it doesn’t fit the narrative that we are struggling.

Now we need to be on it on Saturday, no one denies it, we know they will try against us like they refuse to against Ibrox, but we are by no means struggling going into this game.

We are the form team, since that appalling refereeing display at Tynecastle we are undefeated having won 4 league games, drawing one and also won 2 cup games. It is no coincidence that we have as a fully fit, and available, squad as we have had all season at this time. In that same period the Ibrox team have won 3 league games, drawn 2 and lost 2, won 2 Scottish cup ties and a draw and defeat in Europe.

Yet we are being told we are the team who is struggling for form?

During that period, as they always do, they get the benefit of the “unconscious bias and pattern of assistance” which has been proven beyond any doubt. Figures don’t lie and if it was random there would be no pattern.

So, we will have to take account of the referee on the pitch, Kevin Clancy I believe, and the VAR team will be led by Nick Walsh, I have no doubt that they have both been told to ensure that they give us nothing. I know both of these referees are hated by the Ibrox fans as they are convinced that they are Celtic fans but as we know, anyone with any link to Celtic is not allowed to be involved in refereeing in Scottish football, that has already been proven this season too.

This is the biggest game of the season so far, I think, for all of the above, and that we play Saturday at 3pm (GMT) and they don’t play until lunchtime on Sunday, if we win and we go 6 clear before their game, if we do get the 3 points, the pressure is on them.

Celtic are in the driving seat and have control at the wheel, don’t let anyone tell you different.
